Drugs are for complete assholes.
Unless you were born on crack, or somebody tied you down and shoved blunts down your throat/injected you with heroin/whatever then at some point you made a choice and f---ed up. That's what you call an "objective fact".
Drugs are a way to alter your perception of reality. If you prefer a drug-induced fantasy over actual reality, that's a sign that you've got problems which I can't guess at and are somewhat outside the scope of this thread.
Go ahead and rationalize your choice to me, but don't think I won't know you're only trying to convince yourself.

They can use it as an excuse for anything if they want to. It is their life. Life doesn't make sense, so why should excuses in life make sense?

No, I'm not. I'm just saying don't judge people that do drugs. I'd like to see you forget and live a happy life when your drunken dad is beating you. They already have low willpower from the beatings, so they resort to drugs to forget it.

Because they end up avoiding the reality of society and their resposibilities as they get more addicted? Therefore becoming unproductive member of society trying to get more drugs at any cost.

Because this is a fantasy game, you are discussing this in a GAME-RELATED Board, what does drugs have to do with the game in first place?

Whoever said everything you have to do needs to help make you a "productive member of society". In fact, who says you need to be a "productive member of society".

There's no point in staying with a guild if you feel uncomfortable. Not much else to discuss... there never was, it's pretty much common sense.

I love the assumption that everyone who's ever used the harder stuff is automatically a morally barren pit of molten debauchery.
Many successful business men and women today were a part of the 60s drug binge, and they've grown respectable and efficient families and careers.
Alcohol can cause addiction and ruin lives even more easily as it's a taxable commodity. The hypocrisy of this situation is galling, especially when people hark on about the 'objective facts'.

So you're saying that if you have extra cash and more free time, than you could use drugs.
Sorry, but that's not an excuse either.
